- Meadows resident and defender of the big cats Mary Ellen Schoeman alerts us to the Wild Wonders/Zoofari golf tournament in Escondido, to reach money for wildlife conservation and rescue, and partners with her favorite cause Cheetah Outreach. More details on the tournament here.
- The Altadena Mountain Rescue Team passed its technical rock certification this month. Search and rescue teams from all over California met for testing and recertification near Lone Pine on their technical rock rescue skills. They've got a picture and a story on their website.
- The Hahamongna Watershed Park Advisory Committee will next meet Tues., March 22, at 6 PM at Flintridge Retreat Center, room 117, 236 W Mountain St., Pasadena (across from the Pasadena City Yards).
- Altadena's indispensible Monica Hubbard will receive the Altadena/Pasadena Soroptimist Club RUBY award April 23, which comes with a $100 grant to a nonprofit. The nonprofit she has chosen is the Bright Futures Scholars, and is trying to raise $4,000 in six days so this year's class of scholars can go to Washington, D.C.
