It's been awhile since we're heard from Gloriana Casey, whose poetic muse seems to strike when something gores her ox. Here's the latest:
Dear County Princes : Cinderella City Wants Her Glass Slipper Back

There is a Cinderella town
against the Angeles.
Though life is fine and people kind
a "Shadow" does exist!
This "Shadow" is a secret thing,
it hides behind complaint.
Nefarious! This voice it carps,
Democracy? It ain't!
While speaking up is good for all,
this "Shadow" voice charade,
it leads the County by the nose
in egotist parade.
For codes are made to serve us all
NOT platform for a hurt.
To make this city function now
it takes a lot of work.
A sidewalk sign? Oh please spare us.
It's wrong to advertise?
I've seen that sign and read your rules.
Enforcement? OVERSIZED!
And Fancy Food Trucks, once a month;
some personal space was breached?
BUT helicopter noise is high,
and many eardrums screeched!
No Danny's Farm, a joy for all
for human husbandry?
ONE voice complains and yet again,
a Common Good won't be.
Zane Grey Estate, this one complaint?
This brings our purple rage!
AGAIN, concept of Common Good
has left the County stage.

I've really had it," Shadow" one,
your nose I'd like to tweak!
For times are tough and People need
Sense of Community!
These County Codes, though made by man,
they do not serve, you see.
These are the "times that try our souls"
Cinderella City.
This Code "Prince," he is humbug too,
for all, and more's the pity.
So County Codes, and "Shadow" one
whose life is dark and drear,
CREATION'S here, and yet you smite
each tiny growth idea!
For cities are not clones, you know,
and one code won't fit all.
Our Cinderella needs to dance,
and YOU close down the ball!
So I suggest, dear citizens,
that when this "Shadow" stinks,
We PRO out-letter mailed in thoughts
and ship of fools, it sinks!
And County too, I challenge you
to make SMART rules for all.
