...at the Altadena Community Center, 730 E. Altadena Dr. Meeting chair Robert Staehle emails that discussion will include:
-- The DRAFT Los Angeles County Trails Manual... Available for review at http://lacountytrailsmanual.com/ (click on the "downloads" tab to access the entire document.)
-- Note the link to new "Department of Justice Revised Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Regulations Regarding Trails Effective March 15, 2011" on the L. A. County Trails Manual website above.
The final Trails Manual is due out "sometime" this month (there is no definitive time table posted except for April 2011). The last of 6 community meetings across the County about the DRAFT Trails Manual was on 3 March 2011 in Calabasas. There is very little time to review and submit concerns about this important guiding document for County planners and trail builders before the Trails Manual is finalized. We continue to invite Sapphos Environmental and County staff to brief the ACTRWG about the current status of the trails manual, but do not know if they will attend tomorrow's meeting. The ACTRWG has strongly recommended that there be another round of public input, in order to verify the incorporation of important public comments, before this important trail policy document goes to the Board of Supervisors for approval. However, we have been unable to ascertain if this will be the case. ...
Other likely topics include:
-- Status of USFS trails in the Station Fire Closure Zone. (Thanks to Mitch Marich & Co. for their recent report and photos.)
-- Possible blockage to ACT access at Glenallen Lane
-- Grading by bobcat / runoff berms on Altadena Crest Trail west of Chaney Trail (Concerns from Tom Nuccio.)
-- Pinecrest Gate: next steps?
As usual, I hope to get the full agenda out just before the meeting.

Robert Staehle, Meetings Chair
