The Coffee Gallery is trumpeting its Thurs., April 28 fundraiser as "A Concert for the People by the People of Altadena."
The concert, to be held at the Altadena Community Church, 943 East Altadena Dr., runs from 7-10 PM, and donations are accepted.
The concert is a fundraiser for an entertainment license for the Coffee Gallery coffeehouse, which earned the ire of county officials in March for holding almost-nightly open mic performances at the front stage. (The concert venue in the back of the building, The Coffee Gallery Backstage, is a separate business that already has the proper licensing).
Hosted by Duane Thorin, with a special guest appearence by storyteller Leslie Perry, musical guests so far include: Dave Morrison, The Halpins, Raspin, Mr. McZeal, Star, Brad Rodgers, Jim Brille, Amazing Steve, and The Best of The Coffee Gallery Community Stage All-Stars.
