Altadenans for Quality Education (Altadenablog sponsor) have revamped their website, calling for support of the Altadena Declaration, the latest refinement in their quest to create a separate, high-achieving school district. - LA Weekly's Tanja Laden looks at last weekend's gathering of the Los Angeles Visionaries Association (LAVA), which started off with a presentation by Altadena's Ian Whitcomb at the legendary Clifton's Cafeteria.
- The fine folks at the Altadena Community Garden are featured in a podcast by Cindy Dole of Home Wizards, who talks to Master Gardener Jeri Huston, who taught Victory Garden classes in the Garden. Sandy Gillis (an ace gardener herself) who talks about how to get started, as well as the Garden's annual picnic and resource fair (We just put a Square Foot Garden in the backyard and are feeling very earthy right now!)
- The Pasadena Education Network has announced three community meetings next week to discuss the search for the next Pasadena Unified School District superintendent. The community input forums will be: Wed. May 6, 6-8 PM, Muir High School Auditorium; Thurs., May 7, 6-8 PM, Pasadena High School Auditorium; Fri., May 6, 10 AM-12 PM, McKinley School Auditorium.
