James Loney, a Canadian Catholic Worker who was kidnapped in Baghdad in 2005 (and freed by British Special Forces in 2006) will be speaking this Palm Sunday weekend. He will deliver the sermon at the Pasadena Mennonite Church at 1041 E. Altadena Dr. at 11 AM, and is the keynote speaker at the "Pasadena Palm Sunday Peace Parade" starting at Messiah Lutheran Church, 570 E. Orange Grove, Pasadena, 3-5 PM.
And the curse continues: The Sierra Madre Tattler (one of PSN editor Frank Girardot's three favorite local blogs -- another is in South Pas, and modesty prevents us from mentioning the third) looks at the One Carter development in Sierra Madre. An ancient stand of trees was plowed flat by ... Dorn Platz, whose cold skeletal hand has such a tight grip on Lincoln Crossing that apparently can' t be loosed by anything known to mortals, or the county, or anybody. Illuminating reading from Sierra Madre's watchdog John Crawford.
