Celebrate National Poetry Month at the Altadena Library with the library’s Poet Laureate Alene Terzian and the Zephyr Poets on Friday, April 29 at 7:00 p.m. Following the featured reading there will be an open mic and all poets are invited to bring their poems to read. Because there are often families at library events, poems should be suitable for the general audience.
Several years ago, Shahe Mankerian, Armine Iknadossian, Tina Demirdjian, and Alene Terzian formed the Zephyr Poets—a workshop group that meets every two weeks. Their poems, through the use of fresh images and language, investigate the nuances of the human condition and challenge the audience to reconsider commonplace subject matters.
This program will be featured as part of the San Gabriel Valley Poetry Festival along with the library’s Poetry and Cookies program which will take place on Saturday, April 9 at 2 PM at the Altadena Senior Center.
This free program is sponsored by the Friends of the Altadena Library.
