Save the date: next ACONA meeting May 24

ACONA (the Altadena Coalition of Neighborhood Associations) has set its meeting and agenda for next month, Tues., May 24, 7-8:30 PM at the Altadena Main Library, 600 E. Mariposa St.

Speakers include Tanganica Turner, field representative for Assemblyman Anthony Portantino, who will give a brief presentation on group homes in Altadena, and open the floor for your questions.

Altadena Sheriff Lt. Roosevelt Johnson will address the Altadena station's dispatchers: "The dispatchers, who are the first impression of the Altadena Sheriff's Dept., should communicate concern, empathy, clear information, and a speedy response to al callers. It's sad that at many local public meetings we have heard that this is not occurring on a regular basis."
