Application packets for candidates for Altadena Town Council are available starting today at the Altadena Community Center; 730 East Altadena Drive, between 8 AM-5 PM Monday through Friday.
Completed applications will need to be returned to the clerk at the Community Center IN A SEALED ENVELOPE along with a non-refundable application fee of $35 by 5 PM May 10. Candidates will need to have been residents for the last two years, and be registered voters in Los Angeles County.
A candidate’s forum is scheduled for May 17 during the regular town council meeting.
Town Council consists of two representatives from each of the eight census tracts in Altadena, with each representative serving an alternating two-year term. Meeting the third Tuesday each month, the Council’s 16 members are elected as an advisory body that communicates and coordinates residents’ needs with public agencies and to Supervisor Michael Antonovich of the Fifth District, Altadena’s official representative on the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors.
