Candidate applications will be available Friday for the Altadena Town Council election Sat., June 11, which will also add a “pre-election” day June 7.
Election committee chairman Eric Pierce told the Town Council at last night’s meeting that a pre-election day, with all votes to be taken in a central location, would accommodate those who work on Saturday or observe it as Sabbath.
Pierce said that applications had to be returned by 5 PM Tues., May 10. The candidate’s forum will be held at the May 17 town council meeting.
Pierce said that polling locations for June 11 were still being firmed up, but would likely be the traditional ones that have been used in the past.
Councilman Techumseh Shackelford, who is on the election committee, said that security for the ballots needed to be solved for the June 7 pre-election voting, but that “we’re 90 percent there.”
Pierce said that they were still looking for volunteers, so any interested people should email: atcelection@yahoo.com
