We were a co-conspirator in an event at Sierra Madre Elementary School this morning, where our children attend: their beloved principal Gayle Bluemel is retiring this year, and a group of parents conspired with the fire department to start a fake fire drill -- followed by a flash mob dance tribute of hundreds of parents, teachers, and kids.
Since we can't dance to save our life, we were left chronicling the event . We took some video, but it was a little too shakey-cam for us and apt to produce nausea in viewers, but you can check out the event in -- yes, the Sierra Madre AOL/Patch. If you see the big guy in the hat and khaki jacket taking videos and stills simultaneously, well, he's the one who doesn't answer to Arianna Huffington.
It was a hoot, and a great tribute to a beloved educator.
