Saturday was the annual picnic and resource fair at the Community Garden at Loma Alta Park, and it was a great time to meet, greet, and eat. Garden president Silvera Grant said that more than 1,000 tickets were sold to the event, which is not only a picnic featuring bounty from the garden, but booths with specialty foods for sale and community information. We have more pictures after the jump.

Information booths and vendors shared their offerings outside the garden ...
... while inside the garden, people line up for a feast.
There was lots of entertainment, including this ukulele band.
MC Alan Freeman (Altadenan and Occidental College theatre professor) keeps things moving.
Antonovich shows Chris Andrada the proclamation from the supervisors commemorating the Mt. Lowe Military Academy. Andrada is the president of the Mt. Lowe Military Academy Alumni Association. The military school for boys used to be located on the site of the community garden.
Here, Antonovich and Daniels enjoy the new garden bench that honors Antonovich for his support of the community garden.
