- Even the New York Times is getting into the "animals in the city" act, with this story about bears roaming more widely in the Western states, even into urban areas like Colorado Springs and Durango. We suppose we should be happy that the Altadena bears aren't foraging as widely as the coyotes!
- And apparently not as widely as the cougars, either: David Baron of Public Radio International writes of a cougar that made it all the way from the Black Hills of South Dakota to Connecticut (don't laugh -- another one made it all the way to Chicago some years before).
