This information was being shared with the Presidents Streets newsgroup from some residents on Coolidge:
Friday night [July1] - my wife and son were reading in a back bedroom which leads to our backyard. They looked through the window, which had blinds two-thirds closed, and saw an unfamiliar pair of sneakers on somebody who was on our deck. My wife asked if it was our other son and the figure bolted into our backyard. He did not open and go through our gate, but was obviously accessing our yard by snaking through neighbor houses behind us. Basketball style sneakers. African American. Male. Took place at approx. 11:30pm. Sheriffs were called and responded.
Sunday night [July 3] - Two next door neighbor children rang our doorbell around midnight. They were nervous after having seen a suspicious character across the street who then dashed between two houses, heading toward Valencia. African American male. Long shirt. Long basketball style shorts and shoes. Late teens/early 20s. Sheriffs were called and responded.
The area is clearly being cased by prowlers. Probably a small team looking for unoccupied homes during vacation months, but they are being very brazen.
