Scissors Paper Rock Salon,1864 N. Allen, along the Pasadena border (Altadenablog sponsor team member) has announced this summer's Friday night concert series at the salon.
Owner Yolande Carson said that the concerts are fun for the whole family, as they transform the salon into a concert space for the night.
This year, local artists will also have showings of their work at the free events.
The schedule is:
Aug. 5: Fei Lau (FeiPaintings.com), atmospheric watercolors of nature, with singer/songwriter Mark Canette (mellow rock)
Aug. 12: Fei Lau show continues, with Dave & Judy Show, local electro-acoustic duo (power pop/soul)
Aug. 19: "Brush paintings from the minds' eye" by Katherine Tilley, with Medicine Man (Americana)
Aug. 26: Tilley show continues, with Uncommon Gentlemen (acoustic/alternative/punk)
Sept. 9: Mixed media by local artist Kate Carvellas, with the Sam Hill Duo, guitar and flute instrumental arrangements (Celtic/blues/ American folk)
