The Altadena Sheriff's Station is participating in two community events during the first week in August at Charles White and Farnsworth Parks.
On Tues., Aug. 2, the sheriff station along with the Sheriff's Support Group of Altadena and the Neighborhood Watch groups will be sponsoring the annual "National Night Out" at Farnsworth Park, 5-8 PM. There will be potluck and barbecue, and information available on setting up a Neighborhood Watch program and CERT training.

On Sat., Aug. 6, the sheriff's station is hosting its first "Community in the Park" event at Charles White Park, 77 Mountain View St., 1-4 PM.
According to a press release, "This community event it designed to show law enforcement's appreciaton of the citizens of Altadena. It will also help our continuous effort to build strong, positive relationships with the community we serve, as well as give the citizens of Altadena an opportunity to come together, interact, and bond with each other. It will be a festive famly atmosphere filled with food, fun and safety information."
