The final meetings of the county's Boundary Review Committee, which will determine final choices for supervisory districts, will be livecast on the web next week.
According to a press release, "The culminating meetings of the Los Angeles County Boundary Review Committee (BRC) will be streamed live online, as the BRC concludes its work and prepares to send recommendations on revising the boundaries of the five supervisorial districts to the Board of Supervisors for consideration."
The final two meetings are scheduled for Mon., July 11, at 2 PM and Wednesday, June 13, at 2 PM. The online broadcast will be available by going to the Los Angeles County homepage at http://www.lacounty.gov, and clicking on “Board Meeting Webcast” on the right-hand side of the page, or at the direct link: http://bos.co.la.ca.us/Categories/MtgsBoard/LiveBroadcast.htm.
According to the press release, "The BRC is tasked with identifying any necessary changes to the boundaries of the supervisorial districts and will report to the Board of Supervisors its findings and recommended changes. It is expected that growth in the number of residents will require some shift in the boundaries of the five districts to accommodate population changes or shifts among people living in Los Angeles County." In some of the plans under consideration, Altadena will move as a whole or in part from District Five (Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich) to District One (Supervisor Gloria Molina)
