The day after a hiker died following a plunge from the first waterfall at Eaton Canyon, rescuers plucked a stranded hiker from the same location.
According to a press release from the sheriff's department, a Pasadena resident heard a male teen yelling from a ledge Monday where he was stuck near the first waterfall as she was hiking the canyon. Members of the Altadena sheriff's search and rescue team responded at 6:15 PM. Team members rapelled down the cliff and lowered the teen to safety using ropes and rapelling equipment.
According to the press release, "The 17-year old male resident of Altadena was uninjured and walked out of the canyon on his own accord."
