by the Junior League of Pasadena
The Junior League of Pasadena, Inc. (“JLP”) welcomes ladies from the Pasadena area and beyond, interested in learning more about the League’s over 85 years of leadership and service in the community. Prospective members are invited to the League’s headquarters where they learn about the League's mission: to develop the potential of women, improve communities and promote voluntarism. They also had the opportunity to meet with current members about the group’s exciting service projects and got a sense of why the JLP was named Nonprofit of the Year by The Pasadena Star-News’ Rose Magazine in 2010.
The League is excited about continuing the legacy of making a difference in the community and creating lasting changes through projects that have endured, such as the creation of a family education and services center at Madison Elementary School, founding of the popular Kidspace Children's Museum, and creation of the docent program at the Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens.
This year, the League is excited to announce its move to a partnership model of volunteerism. The League is teaming up with the Pasadena Unified School District's 2nd Grade public art program, The Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles, Community Assistance for Seniors (CAPS), and the Mother’s Club of Pasadena to provide dynamic community impact.
In addition to a hands-on experience in contributing to community causes, League members receive training in leadership and advocacy skills, management, marketing and communication skills. The League offers members a supportive environment with on-the-job experience organizing community programs, fundraising events and taking on leadership positions.
The Junior League of Pasadena encourages all women who are interested in joining to it open house to learn more about becoming a part of its community
The remaining open house dates is: Thurs., Sept. 8, 6:30 -8 PM
The open house will be held at the League’s headquarters, located at 149 South Madison Avenue, Pasadena, CA 91101.
