A multiagency task force of lawmen from the FBI, LA County Sheriffs, and Pasadena Police Dept. swooped down on a Pasadena house Thursday evening and detained several people.
Pictured: deputies on the scene of Thursday night's search.
According to Altadena Sheriff Capt. Steven McLean, the search warrant involved gang-related activity, but not much else was being said about the dramatic raid at 2157 El Sereno Ave., at the corner with Woodbury.
An eyewitness who was driving east on Woodbury said she saw an "average-looking" man go to the back of a large van parked on Woodbury, roll up the rear door, "and about 20 GI Joes came out." The armed and armored men were probably FBI, McLean said.
According to McLean and witnesses, the raid included flash-bang grenades meant to surprise and disorient suspects.
According to Altadena watch commander Sgt. Debra Herman, it was a multiagency task force operation involving gang units and entry teams.
McLean said that several people had been detained, but they were still sorting out if any were going to be arrested.

Note: we rechecked several maps, and the home does fall within the Altadena side of the border, altho' it also seems to have a Pasadena mailing address.
