Mark your calendars for Sept. 30-Oct. 1, as the Altadena Comedy Festival comes back, bigger than ever, to the Coffee Gallery, 2029 N. Lake Avenue, according to executive producer John Heinsen.
Heinsen, who is producing with Coffee Gallery owner Julie Sandoval, said that there will be two themed days of shows, with tickets ranging from $5 to $15, with proceeds going to military families.
Fri., Sept. 30 will be "Sketch and Improv Day," and Sat., Oct. 1, will be "Stand-up Day." In addition to comedy, there will be magic and other entertainment, and a re-creation of a contemporary USO comedy show as might be seen in Iraq or Afghanistan today.
Heinsen said that the comedy festival will also honor Bob Hope with the "Echo Award," named after Echo Mountain, given to a deceased master comedian.
Heinsen promised that the full schedule of events and performers will be locked down this weekend. Keep checking their website or Facebook page for details.
