- Fashion for the ages: Tickets are available now for the Fabulous Fall Fashion Show and Tea sponsored by the Sierra Madre Historical Preservation Society on Sat., Oct. 15. Costume designer Shon Le Blanc will narrate a fashion show based on the photographs in the award-winning book, Southern California: Seeking the Better Life in Sierra Madre, written by Altadena's Michele Zack. To complement this unique show, the Society will serve a sumptuous tea consisting of finger sandwiches, hearty appetizers, scones, including a special orange marmalade cake as one of the desserts. The event is in celebration of the Sierra Madre Historical Preservation Society's 80th Anniversary. - Men's health meeting: Men Educating Men About Health (MEMAH) will have a meeting on Sat. Sept. 17, from 10 AM-noon at the Community Center, Fair Oaks Renaissance Plaza, 615 N. Fair Oaks Ave., Pasadena (second floor). - Cycling the Arroyo: Tour de Arroyo II will take place on Sun., Sept. 18. Gather at 9 AM at Memorial Park, Pasadena, and bike to the rally at Los Angeles State Historic Park (the Cornfield) at 10:30 AM. The Southern California Prestige Series of Cyclocross bike festival will be taking place at the park as well. The Tour de Arroyo promotes the vision of a bikeway for fun and commuting between Pasadena and Los Angeles. (You and your bike can take the Gold LIne back!)
