- Teen Flick at the Altadena Main Library, 600 E. Mariposa St., 3:30 PM Movie: Thor (rated PG-13); This epic adventure spans the Marvel Universe; from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard. At the center of the story is The Mighty Thor, a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war.

- Arroyos & Foothills Conservancy hiking series begins with docent Lyle Hatridge following the route of the Mt. Lowe Railway to the Rubio Incline. Hike: about a mile each way, demanding at points, with several high narrow steps near a sheer drop and a scramble over rocks in the creek near the end. Meet at Pleasantridge Drive and Rubio Vista Drive.
