The Altadena Coalition of Neighborhood Associations (ACONA) meets next Tues. from 7-8:30 PM at the Altadena Main Library, 600 E. Mariposa St.
According to Elliot Gold of the Upside-Down T Neighborhood Association, "The first half of the ACONA meeting will feature speakers from Athens Trash Service, and the LA County Department of Public Works. Athens will address questions and concerns about how they’re doing after six weeks and how we in Altadena can use them for recycling. LA County will address questions about what to do about neighbors who need a nudge to clean up weeds, leaves and who do we contact about dry brush as the fire season looms."
Speakers will be Thor Schmidt, General Manager of Athens Services, and Paul Alva from LA County Department of Public Works.
The secon talk about organizing your neighborhood into a Neighborhood Watch or Neighborhood Association.
Speakers include Natalie Salazar, Director of the Community Law Enforcement Partnership Program (CLEPP) of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department; Sgt. Michael D. Randenberg and Deputy Ronnie Manier, Community Relations, Altadena Sheriff's Station; Holly Rundberg, ACONA's expert on Neighborhood Watch and Neighborhood Associations; and Jeff Sedlik, creator of the AltadenAlert Neighborhood Watch Map.
