Silver Saturday, an annual event sponsored by those whose lives have been changed by the diagnosis of breast cancer, will be held on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Cancer Support Community – Pasadena, 200 E. Del Mar Blvd., Suite 118, Pasadena, CA 91105. The goal of Silver Saturday is to encourage other women to learn more about breast cancer, to inspire each other with hope, and to ensure that they aren’t alone. This year marks the 20-year anniversary of this event.
Registration and a continental breakfast will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the program, entitled “Living with Breast Cancer Today,” begins at 9 a.m. Featured speakers will be Drs. Dawn Hills, Christina Yeon, Martin Perez, and Judith Lowe, and physical therapist Eva Nemeth. The event sponsors are Soroptimist International of Altadena/Pasadena, Zonta Club of Pasadena, and Cancer Support Community – Pasadena (formerly the Wellness Community).
