We live in the 1600 block of Woodglen Lane in Altadena. My sister in-law came over for dinner tonight and drove up the driveway. We have our garbage cans at the top of the driveway. On her way up she saw a very big brown bear tearing apart our garbage cans. She called us from her cell phone and we went out and banged on pots and pans to make sure it was safe enough to get her to our house. We just called the Sheriff's Department and they are on the way to check things out. Just thought the neighborhood would want to know!
Bill Westphal also shares this video from a resident who wishes to remain anonymous, but she found some bears in her yard in September.
