The Braewatch neighborhood watch group is passing along a message from a resident at the 1500 block of east Mendocino (between Braeburn and the wash) about an attempted break-in.
Just before 8 PM, the resident says, there were in the family room watching TV, and the back rooms of the house were compeltely dark. They heard someone trying to force open the back door from the patio into the kitchen. The dog began barking, they dialed 911 and yelled out "The police are coming!"
Deptuties came, but the suspect was long gone by that time. The neighbor's suspicion is that the suspect may have gotten into the backyard through a neighbor's driveway.
Seems like the burglary trend is going up again, so please call the sheriff if you spot or hear anything suspicious: 798-1131.
