Reader Liz says there has been a German Shepherd roaming around on Hill near New York, also spotted around the area of Morada Place and Mar Vista Street. Still at large last we heard, but maybe it's yours.
Reader Anand says:
While bicycling on Altadena Dr at 8:20 PM on Tuesday I saw a dog dart across the road and get hit by an oncoming car. The dog howled and limped off into one of the yards (346 Altadena Dr, near Marengo). I looked for the dog but could not find it. I have called LA County animal services and reported the incident. The dog was large, black, and short-haired (maybe a lab) with a chain-like collar. The dog appeared lost before the accident.
UPDATE 10/19: Reader Michele says she spotted the German Shepherd Tuesday night as well:
It is a beautiful, large German Shepard with a reddish coat. There is a collar, but the dog wouldn't let me get close enough to check for a tag. He or she was on our 1200 block of Morada last night and earlier today (Wed.), and was last seen at about 11:45 AM heading toward Lake Ave. at Morada and Maiden.
UPDATE 10/20: Michele writes back:
The update is that my husband & a few other neighbors were able to get him on a leash last night. One of the neighbors will turn him over to a local German Shepherd rescue. Sadly, he had a collar but no tags and it appears he may have been dumped.
