- The Arroyos & Foothills Conservancy hiking series continues. Learn about the 1,200-million-year geologic history of Rubio Canyon with docent John Wros. Meet at the base of Camp Huntington Road, where it intersects with E. Loma Alta Drive, at 9 AM. The trail is moderate -- about one mile each way, with a 500-foot elevation gain. Free.
- Christmas Tree Lane Lights Up goes from 9 AM-noon. In the morning you will be greeted with donuts, coffee and hot chocolate and after 12:00 lunch will be served. If you are bringing a group of more than 5 on any weekend and plan to stay and have lunch, PLEASE call (626) 403-1123 so that we will have enough food for everyone.
- Pasadena Mental Health Center third annual rummage sale and open house from 8 AM-1PM at the Center, 1495 N. Lake, Pasadena. There will also be free wellness workshops from 10 AM-noon. All proceeds benefit the clients of PMHC. For more information, call 626-798-0907 or go to www.pmhc.org.
- "Grow LA Victory Garden Initiative" classes at the Altadena Community Garden will sit out this week, but concludes next week.
- "The Gathering: Farm to Fork," a day-long, ecological and educational event from the Los Angeles Community Garden Council, features break-out sessions, networking, information booths, and healthful food around the theme “Farm to Fork.” 8 AM-4 PM at Loma Alta Park Community Center and the Altadena Community Garden, 3330 N. Lincoln Ave. The event is free, however, donations are appreciated. Lunch will be provided, first come, first served. This is a low-waste event. Please bring plates, cups and eating utensils.

- “Designer Drug Jewelry” trunk show by Altadena artist Susan Braig at Webster's Community Pharmacy, 2450 N. Lake Ave., noon-3 PM. Her unique Braig recycles donated expired gel caps and tablets to use as gemstones and found items to create earrings, bracelets, tiaras, necklaces and rings. Partial proceeds will benefit the Susan G Komen Foundation of LA County. In addition to Susan’s jewelry, the pharmacy has a unique selection of “For The Cure” gifts and collectibles available for sale. Complimentary refreshments, entry and parking.

- "Secrets of East Mariposa St.," The Altadena Historical Society's annual tour, 10 am to 4 pm. Explore the history and mysteries and characters of this street.
