Sat., Oct. 8
- St. Elizabeth School is hosting a huge yard sale to benefit the 9th grade science camp on Sat., Oct. 8, from 7 AM-2 PM at the school, 1145 New York Drive.
- The Meadows is also holding a neighborhood-wide yard sale from 8 AM – 12 noon. Fifteen+ houses will have a variety of items for sale. Maps of the participating properties will be provided to all. To get to The Meadows, head north on Lincoln, north of Loma Alta. Turn left on Canyon Crest and follow it through the canyon and up into The Meadows.
- And the President Streets neighborhood (the area around New York and Altadena Drive and encompassing Harding, Roosevelt, Coolidge, Grand Oaks, Craig, Pepper, and Valencia) will also have its neighborhood yard sale, with about 30 homes participating.
- The Arroyos & Foothills Conservancy hiking series continues. Learn about birds of the local foothills on a docent-led hike with Kathi Ellsworth of the Pasadena Audubon Society in Rubio Canyon at 9 AM. Meet at the intersection of E. Loma Alta Drive and Camp Huntington Road in Altadena, and remember to bring binoculars. The hike is free.
- Christmas Tree Lane Lights Up goes from 9 AM-noon. In the morning you will be greeted with donuts, coffee and hot chocolate and after 12:00 lunch will be served. If you are bringing a group of more than 5 on any weekend and plan to stay and have lunch, PLEASE call (626) 403-1123 so that we will have enough food for everyone.
- "Grow LA Victory Garden Initiative" classes at the Altadena Community Garden. The classes, part of University of California Cooperative Extension’s Master Gardener Program, run from 9 AM to noon on Oct. 1, 8, 15, and 29. Cost is $50 for the series, or $15 per class.
