The Arroyos & Foothills Conservancy's final hike of the fall this Saturday should be a doozy: a strenuous trek to the east ridge of Rubio Canyon along a rarely explored trail. Local railroad historian and trails expert Paul Ayers will point out artifacts he's discovered in his decade-plus of trail work in Rubio Canyon, and will also discuss landmarks of the Mt. Lowe Railway visible from the ridge.
Meet at 9 AM at the intersection of E. Loma Alta Drive and Camp Huntington Road in Altadena. Please wear hiking boots, long sleeves and long pants. Experienced hikers only, please. Rain cancels the hike.
