For the 13th consecutive year, the bell tolled for Muir High.
Behind an opportunistic defense and just enough offense, the Mustangs football team rallied from a six-point deficit in defeating archrival Pasadena, 14-6, in Thursday evening’s 58th edition of the Turkey Tussle at the Rose Bowl.
The Mustangs’ victory is the 13th straight in the cross-town series, which is the longest streak held by either side, and added to Muir’s overall series record of 39-17-2.
The Mustangs also extended their unbeaten streak to 16 straight games over Pasadena, while helping their playoff chances as both teams are now tied for fourth in the Pacific League standings with a pair of important league games still to be played today.
Muir is now 6-4 overall and 4-3 in league while Pasadena dropped to 5-5 and 4-3.
