from the Pasadena Education Network
Parents interested in enrolling their children in a Pasadena Unified School District school that is not their assigned school are encouraged to attend The Pasadena Education Network’s (PEN) “Navigating Open Enrollment in the Pasadena Unified School District” on Tuesday, Nov. 29 at the Pasadena Central Library, 285 E. Walnut Street, Pasadena from 7 - 9 PM.
As an Open Enrollment district, families in Pasadena, Altadena and Sierra Madre may apply for admission to schools other than their assigned school. PEN representatives along with Dr. Meg Abrahamson, Pasadena Unified’s Director of Student Support Programs, will lead a presentation about how families can apply to any school in the district. A question and answer session will follow. Spanish translation will be provided.
Families interested in either the Spanish or Mandarin Dual Language Immersion Programs must participate in the Open Enrollment process.
PEN offers free programs for parents to help them understand and evaluate their elementary and middle school options in the Pasadena Unified School District. PEN also offers resource materials including fact sheets about PUSD schools, school tours and opportunities for parents to network with one another.
