Today [Wednesday] between the hours of 2:30 PM and 4:45 PM someone tried to enter our home via an East facing window, towards the rear of our home. They had removed the screen but did not gain entry.
They did succeed in entering our unattached garage through the side door and have stolen a Ruckus scooter, motorcycle gloves and helmet. Our barking dog must not have been much of a deterrent and there is evidence that they had thrown a brick at him. Thankfully our dog seems fine.
Soon after noticing the screen having been removed I went next door to our West neighbor. She hadn't noticed anything and hadn't heard our dog barking.
As I was leaving her home to return to mine a black twenty-something young man starting quickly walking up her walkway. I was startled yet he turned right around upon seeing me and quickly walked ahead of me towards the street, turning East before running away.
My neighbor has no idea who this person is and was not expecting anyone, he had no business there.

We are crossing the T's and dotting the I's to our home security and will now be home for the Thanksgiving holiday. Please be vigilant and lock up.
Sheriff Deputy Ortiz was very helpful and will return tomorrow to dust the screen and window for prints.
