The Altadena Chamber of Commerce has named Altadenablog "Altadena's Business of the Year" for 2011. This is the first time the Chamber has awarded such a designation.
Citizen of the Year for 2011 is community übervolunteer Bill Westphal. A stalwart member of the Sheriff's Support Group of Altadena, a Volunteer on Patrol for the Altadena Sheriff's Station, roving photographer, weather expert, and the proprietor of the Altadena Weathercam, Westphal richly deserves this award.
"I am honored to be recognized as Citizen Of The Year for 2011 by the Altadena Chamber Of Commerce," Westphal writes us. "Altadena has given me so much in my 34 years as a resident and I enjoy giving back to Altadena in any way I can. I am humbled to be recognized for things that I have so much fun doing."
Rose West of the Chamber's Board of Directors said that Altadenablog was awarded for its timely coverage of local news, particularly during the Station Fire and the recent windstorm.
More on this as it develops.
