- Stankard at Pace: Altadenan Connor Stankard is a first-year student this fall at Pace University's New York City campus. Founded in 1906 as a business school, Pace has always insisted on a core curriculum in the liberal arts and sciences, and now has evolved into a comprehensive university preparing professionals for a full range of careers.
- Cedar tree, how big it's grown: If you've lost a deodara tree in the windstorm, Carolyn Seitz tells us that resident has a very old Deodar in their yard which is "a prolific mother of many new trees." If you can carefully dig up a sapling from its current location, it's yours, but limited quantities are available. Some are up to five feet high. If you are able and willing to carefully remove them from their current location, email budabonz@gmail.com
- Day One's "Cherishing Children Holiday Celebration" will be Wed., Dec. 14, at 175 N. Euclid Ave. It's free and open to the public. There will be a REAL SNOW Winter Wonderland, festive holiday music, arts and crafts, story-telling, and a toy give away for children ages 3-17 years (until we run out!). - Relay for Life Holiday Party: The American Cancer Society's Relay for Life for Altadena is having its annual holiday party this Sun., Dec. 18, at the Altadena Ale & Wine House, 2329 N. Fair Oaks Ave., starting at 3 PM. Come along and bring a friend, especially if you're interested in joining the Relay. Team registration is free until Jan. 1, 2012, and you can register here.
