- Gaule studying in Florence: University of San Diego student Mary Gaule of Altadena is studying in Italy this fall. The semester-long program at the Florence University of the Arts (FUA) is located in the historic Palazzo Doni, which housed famous works of art during the Renaissance, including works of Michelangelo. Modeled on the liberal arts curricular tradition, FUA offers a wide variety of courses in business, humanities, fine arts, social sciences and natural sciences. Students are able to participate in campus activities such as academic field trips, Friday evening hilltop walks that visit various Florentine neighborhoods, and activities with the cultural associations. Gaule is majoring in English and plans to graduate in spring 2013.
