The LA County Sheriff's Department says there were five rescues in a 28-hour Saturday-Sunday period Jan. 21-22, rescuing 15 people and recovering one body.
Capt. Mike Parker of the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau said in a release that there were also helmet cam videos for three incidents.
We've discussed the rescue of a 19-year-old South Pasadena woman from Millard Canyon, and the rescue of four teens from Azusa Canyon, but there were several others (which we've had in the que and haven't gotten to yet!):
- Two men were hurt and one died in a 500 ft fall off the Angeles Crest Highway (Nixle announcement and video)
- Three Orange County hikers were found after dark in Eaton Canyon Saturday (Nixle announcement)
- The Montrose Search & Rescue team locate boy scouts and leader in the Mt. Wilson area Saturday night (Nixle announcement)
- And for completists, here's video of the Millard Canyon rescue and of the Azusa Canyon rescue.
