Privatization is on a roll. And either way, no one wants to be rolled over. Privatization is a controversial topic any way you look at it. You won’t want to miss the lively free community forum – “Yours? Mine? Ours? Exploring Privatization” – sponsored by the League of Women Voters Pasadena Area on Sat., Feb. 11, 8:30 AM-noon, at Neighborhood Church, 301 N. Orange Grove Blvd., Pasadena.
People want to know what happens when a municipality or government privatizes libraries, roads, parks and formerly public places and spaces. They want to know the impacts and what the public benefit will be. Does it make sense for cash-strapped cities? Does it make sense for everyone in the community, residents and businesses alike?
A panel of leaders who have experience with what privatization is and what it isn’t, how it works and doesn’t work will discuss various models of privatization and focus on privatization locally and on the state level.
