The case may be shut on the tailgate bandit.
Altadena sheriff Lt. Duane Allen said that an investigation into the theft of numerous Chevy Silverado tailgates over the past few weeks led to the Pasadena home of Wesley Eugene Taylor, 34.
Allen said that three of the stolen tailgates were in Taylor's possession at the time of his arrest by deputies Tuesday night.
With nine Silverado tailgates stolen in December and January -- eight in Altadena, one in Pasadena -- Allen said that "we pretty much put all our manpower into it -- it was getting pretty bad, so we worked on it pretty hard."
Allen said that five detectives worked on the case to bring it to a swift conclusion, thanks to clues Allen said they were not ready to reveal at this time.
