February is Scholars Month in Altadena, paying honor to the Bright Futures Scholars. It's also the month of "Dollars for Scholars" -- participating merchants will have a "Dollars for Scholars" jar by the cash register, where you can make a donation to this program that helps so many disadvantaged local youth excel in school and develop their own leadership qualities.
