"The Fast and the Furious--- Redux"
from gloriana casey
There stands the lonely Sentinel,
with ticket on its face.,
For UN-PERMITTED news rack stands,
inspectors give no grace!
Read it and weep, newspaper racks,
for busted now you'll be.
The rules? Chapter 16.24,
from our L.A. County.
Where will you go, oh newsy ones?
You're cornered now by feet.
For 5 feet marks the bounty line,
where people cross the street.
OR--fire hydrants or bus stop.
Six feet from any bench.
Where will you spread your current news?
News life is no sweet cinch!
NO chipping paint nor graffiti,
nor rust nor broken parts.
No obscene pictures either there,
that might attack some hearts!
Poor news rack stands forlorn---ah me,
and few can stand the heat.!
One hundred forty-one dollars,
for one to stand near street.
One hundred eighty-six for two
and three? The cost is more.
TWO hundred twenty-six for them.
EXTRA! EXTRA! ---no more.
Oh, wait a minute! Do I spy
a tinted glass? Oh me.
Apparently, you've parked too long,
so paying---you will be!
Now where is VIN DIESEL? I ask.
A movie we should see.
As news racks make a break for it,
and RACING they will be!
A movie, YES! As news racks bolt,
on racing cars---a RIFF!
The title? Yes, I've got it now:
"Fast and the Furious: ALTADENA Drift!
