Deputies responded quickly with a full felony roll-out when a suspect boosted some ribs from the Altadena Ralphs store and was caught about ten minutes later.
Lt. Angela Shepherd of the Crescenta Valley sheriff's station said that deputies received a call from the store at about 12:51 PM today that an individual had stolen some ribs from the meat section. Because the suspect pushed an employee on the way out, the incident was elevated from petty theft to robbery, Shepherd said.
Deputies responded quickly and stopped the suspect at gunpoint on Mendocino just east of Holliston Avenue at 1:02 PM, Shepherd said. The suspect is in custody, but his identity was not made public as of press time.
