A Pasadena schools administrator who had announced his departure for a job in Orange County will instead stay put in Pasadena, officials said Monday.
Pasadena Unified School District Chief Finance Officer John Pappalardo was hired last month as deputy superintendent for business and support services at Capistrano Unified School District. He later turned down the job, Capistrano Unified spokesman Marcus Walton said.
Pappalardo, whose last day would have been April 13, had second thoughts about leaving his San Gabriel Valley home or taking on a strenuous commute, said Pasadena schools spokesman Adam Wolfson.
