from the Sierra Club
The April 4 meeting of the Pasadena Group of the Sierra Club will feature "Vanishing of the Bees", a film about the mysterious disappearance of honeybees around the world. The agricultural, ecological, and economic implications are examined in this expertly researched and skillfully crafted documentary narrated by Ellen Page.
Co-director/producer/investigative journalist Maryam Henein will join us after the film to provide the latest scientific information on the phenomenon known as Colony Collapse Disorder, which scientists warn could disrupt pollination of crops that provide food for millions of people throughout the world.
The meeting, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 7:30 pm Wednesday at Eaton Canyon Nature Center, 1750 N. Altadena Drive. A social hour beginning at 7 p.m. precedes the program.
