Craftsman quilting at the Chamberlain House: Nationally-regarded vintage textiles design expert Barbara Brackman will discuss Arts & Crafts designs on patchwork, embroidery, and quilting for the Altadena Historical Society this Sun., June 3,from 2-4 PM. The presentation will be at the historic 1912 Chamberlain House, an Altadena Craftsman masterpiece. TIckets are still available at $25 for AHS members and $30 for non-members, and seating is limited to 30 people. Email jlbrac@earthlink.net if you're interested.
Relay for Life: The Altadena Relay for LIfe for the American Cancer Society is coming up on June 9 and 10 at Farnsworth Park, and there's still time to donate, form a team, or join a team. Brandon Jackson basketball tournament: They're still looking for teams, donations, and volunteers for the second annual Brandon Jackson Memorial Basketball Shoot Out, to be held on Sat., June 23. The tournament, in memory of Muir sports start Brandon Jackson, who was murdered in 2011, raises money to provide scholarships for deserving, college-bound students. There are brackets for youth from age 7-12, middle school students, and high school students including graduation seniors.
