Pasadena police arrsted a John Muir High School student who was caught on campus with what appeared to be a weapon Tuesday morning, according to Pasadena police.
The school went on lockdown, with students and campus workers ordered to "shelter in place," at 9:45 a.m., when a teacher's aide reported seeing a student who had a weapon in his backpack, according to Pasadena Unified School District spokesman Adam Wolfson.
Pasadena police arrived a few minutes later.
The student, 16, was arrested and the weapon recovered shortly thereafter, according to police Lt. Phlunte Riddle said. Riddle said the student had an "air soft" gun, a replica of a real weapon but one that shoots plastic pellets.
