The Coffee Gallery Backstage's impresario and Forkmeister Bob Stane has been named the Music Legend Award winner for the 2012 Topanga Banjo and Fiddle Contest.
Stane has been presenting folk and acoustic acts for over 50 years, including at Pasadena's legendary Ice House, which he founded. After selling the Ice House in 1978, Stane tried retirement but it didn't suit him, and so he founded the Coffee Gallery in Altadena in 1998 as a venue for up-and-coming (or occasional legendary) acts to perform in an intimate setting.
Here's the Topanga Fiddle and Banjo contest write-up on their website.
