Some things to look forward to this busy weekend:
- Helicopter open house: The Pasadena Police Department helipad in Altadena will have an open house on Sat., June 2, from 10:30-2:30 PM. There will be choppers, police vehicles, demonstrations, a chance to talk to recruiters if you're so inclined, and rumor has it you'll even get a chance to see the sheriff's Air 5 rescue helicopter, provided it's not been sent to help some yo-yo on a crumbling cliff at the first waterfall. 2175 Yucca Lane, Altadena
- RIPE on native landscaping: RIPE Altadena, those backyard farmers, are holding a workshop on "Landscaping with Native Plants" to be held at the Pasadena Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1280 E. Washington Blvd., on Sun., June 3, starting at 3 PM. Cost is $20, but RSVP first to gail@ripealtadena.com.
