Young Altadenan Chase Musson, 13, just finished 8th grade, and he has a rare opportunity: he was invited to be evaluated directly for admission for college. Proud dad Brent Musson said that Chad has scored in the top 20% of graduating seniors nationally (and remember, these are 17- and 18-year-olds).
Chase successfully completed an interview with the director of the Early Entrance Program at Cal State University, Los Angeles, and will start in the fall. However, he has a summer session of two seven-week classes, with no college credit, and financial aid won't be available until fall.
So the Musson family has established a fund through the WePay website to raise $2,500 for Chase's summer program. If you'd like to hear the pitch -- and maybe pitch in a little yourself -- check out the website here.
